A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck the San Diego area of
California on Monday (14), the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The epicenter of the quake was recorded 4 kilometers from Julian, 96 kilometers from San Diego.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 13.4 km, the USGS reported.
Experts say that the closer to the surface, the more damage a tremor can cause.
There is no information yet about damage or injuries.
